Terms & Conditions
Plain-English rules for booking us, what we promise, and what we ask of you. Booking an appointment means you agree to them.
1. The service
Oil To Go performs mobile oil changes and closely related light maintenance (such as air and cabin filter replacement) at your home, workplace, or job site within our service area of Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha, and Robins, Iowa. A standard oil change includes up to five quarts of full synthetic oil, a new oil filter, a multi-point visual inspection, fluid top-off, a tire pressure check, and a windshield washer fluid refill. We do not perform repairs, diagnostics, or work beyond what is listed on your booking.
2. Booking and scheduling
- Appointments are booked online, by phone at (319) 302-8646, or by email. A booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation message.
- We serve Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Arrival windows are estimates. We will text or call if we are running more than 15 minutes behind.
- You may reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or a technician arriving to find the vehicle unavailable, may incur a $25 trip fee.
- We may reschedule for severe weather, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues. If we do, there is never a fee, and you go to the front of the line for the next available slot.
3. Pricing and payment
- The price quoted at booking is the price you pay for the service described. Travel within our service area is included.
- The grand opening rate of $69.99 is a limited-time promotion. The regular price is $114.99. Promotional pricing may end without notice for new bookings, but a confirmed booking keeps the price it was booked at.
- Vehicles needing more than five quarts, a specialty filter, or European-specification oil may carry an additional charge. We will tell you the amount before we start, and you can decline the service at no cost.
- Diesel and specialty vehicles are quoted individually.
- Fleet and multi-vehicle accounts are priced by written quote. Fleet invoices are due on the terms stated in the quote.
- Payment is due when the service is complete unless your account has invoice terms. We accept major cards through our payment processor.
4. What we ask of you
- Park the vehicle on a reasonably level, paved or firm surface with room to work around it and to open the hood.
- Make sure we are allowed to work where the vehicle is parked. At apartments, office parks, and job sites, that means your landlord, property manager, or site supervisor is fine with it. We are happy to speak with them.
- Make the keys available at your appointment time: in hand, in a lockbox, or with a neighbor or front desk. We need them to open the hood, run the engine, and reset the oil life monitor.
- Tell us about known leaks, warning lights, aftermarket parts, or previous damage before we start.
- You do not need to be present. If you are not, you agree that we may perform the booked service on the vehicle as parked.
5. Vehicle condition and pre-existing issues
Our technician inspects the vehicle before starting. If we find a condition that makes the service unsafe or likely to cause damage (for example a stripped drain plug, a cracked oil pan, a seized filter housing, or a severe leak), we will stop, show you, and recommend a repair shop. You will not be charged for a service we do not perform. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or for problems that arise from them.
6. Property
We use drip mats and capture equipment and we clean up completely. If we spill on your driveway or parking surface, we will clean it up while we are there. Tell us about any staining within 48 hours and we will come back and address it. We are not responsible for pre-existing stains.
7. Limits on liability
If a leak or fault results from our work, tell us right away and we will return and correct it. Except where the law does not allow it, our total liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the cost of correcting our work or, if greater, the fair repair cost of damage directly caused by our negligence. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost time, lost income, rental cars, or towing, unless our negligence made them necessary. Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence or for anything that cannot be limited under Iowa law.
8. Used oil and filters
We take all used oil, filters, and packaging with us and recycle them through a licensed collector. Nothing is left on your property.
9. Photos and service records
We may photograph the work area, the oil level, and any pre-existing condition for your service record and our quality control. We will not photograph the interior of your vehicle or your home, and we will not publish photos of your property without asking first.
10. Communications
By booking, you agree that we may text, call, or email you about your appointment. Service reminders and promotions are optional and you can opt out at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
11. Website
The content on this site is for general information. Prices, promotions, and service area are current as of the effective date above and may change. We try to keep everything accurate, but we cannot promise the site is error-free. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.
12. Disputes
If something goes wrong, call us first. Almost everything can be sorted out with a conversation. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, and any dispute we cannot resolve together will be heard in the courts of Linn County, Iowa.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you book is the one that applies to that appointment. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the terms last changed.
